First Gymnastics Tawa Limited (Trading as BIGAIR^®, Bigair Gymsports™, Bigair Cheersports™, Bigair Active™ and Bigair Bungy™) is a privately owned and operated company by Directors Tony and Tania McFall.

• Tania has a strong commercial background in property and telecommunications and had a successful Gymnastics career competing for Hawke's Bay Poverty Bay at a national level.  Tania also coached at Capital Gymnastics in the early 90's and is passionate about the benefits of Gymnastics based programmes.

•  Tony has an extensive IT&T and property background, and has been heavily involved in sports administration including Club Captain and President of the Pahiatua Golf Club.  Tony enjoys the involvement and promotion of sport and developing business.

Mission Statement

The company mission is to deliver challenging, structured, fun, safe activities focussing on movement (Gymnastics) - this is something Tony and Tania are very proud of and believe these philosophies "fit kids fly higher" sets BIGAIR^® apart from many others.

"BIGAIR^® programmes will provide for the physical development of children and young persons, their strength, flexibility, co-ordination, balance, promote positive sell awareness, their self confidence, self discipline, an understanding of their own body, their social welfare and social well-being".

Programme Delivery

Bigair Cheersports™ programmes are designed for children aged 5 years through to young adults to tune their senses, focus their minds and develop skills such as balance, landing, springing, rotation, spatial awareness, imagery and manipulative skills.  Our programmes will inspire imagination, fuel zest for life, and develop confidence that will flow into almost every area of a child or young person's life.

Bigair Cheersports™ staff are professionals.  Trained and committed to delivering your child quality coaching, providing an encouraging environment and ensuring safety comes first.

History

• First Gymnastics Tawa Limited (Trading as Fitkidz) was incorporated on the 26th November 2002 by Tony Feeman, Keith Johnston, Robyn and Tony Armstrong and Ranil de Silva. Their vision was to promote, facilitate and deliver Gymnastics based programmes as the best physical preparation and physical development for each and every participant whatever their age, gender, culture or background.

• First Gymnastics Tawa Limited (Fitkidz) was purchased by Tania and Tony McFall during August 2005.

• In 2006 Fitkidz was re-branded to BIGAIR^® (branding developed by Malarky) and is now a very successful brand with professional coaching staff and well developed programmes based on fundamental Gymnastic philosophies. BIGAIR^® has received excellent support from the Wellington community.

• The BIGAIR^®brand has expanded to include Bigair Bungy™.  The popular Bungy Trampoline in Frank Kitts Park, Wellington was purchased by First Gymnastics Tawa Limited early 2008.  A second Bungy Trampoline site on Marine Parade, Napier was added in late 2008.

• Early 2009 the Ngaio Facility was put in place and in Term 1 new classes began.

• February 2009 Bigair Active™ was opened at 215 Main Road in Tawa, Wellington.  The new retail shop show cases a range of Gymnastics and Cheerleading apparel and accessories which until now have been largely unavailable in the Wellington Region.

• Early 2009 Bigair Cheersports™ was established and performances with the Senior Co-ed team began with Century City Saints Basket Ball (now Exodus Wellington Saints).

• October 2009 Bigair Cheersports™ competed for the first time at the New Zealand Dance and Cheer International's held in Auckland and won 2nd place in Senior Level 2 & 3.

• In May 2010 BIGAIR^® launches it's new website and online shopping and registration platform.
